The day began like every other…until l picked my gorgeous Miss 14 up from school with 2 of her friends.
Off we went on the trek home, only to be accosted and abused by some out
of control parent (and l use the term loosely) , some 1 km from the school my
daughter attends. It seems he was frustrated by the car in front of me..not turning right fast enough – into busy traffic. Wow…being careful on the
roads appears to spark some drivers into road rage.
Next thing l know this person starts abusing the car in front..and then
starts tailgating me down the freeway.
To say l was quietly “sh….ng” myself is an understatement.
I had seen that footage of Today Tonight (tv show) , where this crazy
person road raged this guy and smashed his windscreen going on a rampage. Well he stopped tailgating, overtook me and went into my lane and promptly stopped his car in the lane on the freeway, right in front of me.
The poor girls in the car were beside themselves. He jumped out and continued to scream abuse whilst l sat icy faced with the doors locked. Waiting for that fist to go through the windscreen. Thank goodness it didn’t. Something stopped him…who knows what?
Certainly no passes by…all the traffic flew past us- rushing, not wanting to get involved. A very sad indictment on society.
People could see this guys was harassing us and intimidating us -but
still no help. I felt sick and developed an immediate massive headache.
Thank goodness the girls have a sense of humour about it all and also had
the good sense to video some of it.
What possess people to act this way-what trigger goes off in their head to believe that that sort of behaviour is acceptable. Unfortunately the story that should end here doesn’t…and the saying apples don’t fall far from the tree is so true. Sadly the school girl in the passenger seat of the offending vehicle…started in with bully tactics to my daughter and her friends at school today and was just as threatening as the driver! Monkey see- monkey do!
So l will have to keep a close monitor on that situation.
One thing l know for sure it that cars cannot be used as weapons. Things can turn ugly so quickly and l am so glad that l maintained my cool head during a time when things could get out of hand very easily.
I was the protector of the chickens that were in my care that day..and l
would never allow any harm to come to them. Someone was looking after here2bhelpful yesterday..whether is was some form of higher power who knows..but l thank you
all the same. Lets hope things
quickly return to normal in Miss 14 ‘s school
